Los Angeles bans travel to Texas over anti-trans policies

In their motion, board members said that the Lone Star State’s decision to examine certain gender-affirming health-related care for trans youth as baby abuse “flies in the confront of all that we know about ideal tactics when it comes to supporting kids and younger adults to explore who they are and truly feel protected in their feeling of self,” according to the Pasadena Star-Information.

Gov. Greg Abbott’s declaration past month has led to health and fitness companies in the condition suspending these types of therapies. “Caregivers who aid youth with affirming treatment should really in no way be labeled as abusive,” the motion said, in accordance to Star-Information. “This order is discriminatory, hazardous and just simple cruel.”

LA’s ban helps make an exception for the cancellation of any journeys that “would very seriously damage the county’s pursuits.” It also does not implement to legislation enforcement, tax auditors and collectors, and anyone who requirements to journey to the states to appear in advance of a federal committee.
